Superbuy review: the veteran you pay a premium for

Operating since 2012, Superbuy is the oldest Western-facing agent still standing. It trades on that record with the deepest service menu in the category — at the highest headline cost.

The honest framing: Superbuy is rarely the cheapest option and does not pretend to be. You are paying for the longest track record in the business, a warehouse that actively prepares complex hauls, and documentation that answers questions before you ask them.

02What Superbuy does well

A track record nobody else has

Twelve-plus years of continuous operation, surviving every market shift since 2012. When you are trusting an agent with hundreds of dollars in balance, that history is the product. Community forums contain buyers with hundreds of completed Superbuy orders over many years — no newer platform can show that.

The deepest service menu in the category

Around eleven warehouse services that newer agents simply do not offer: moisture-proof PE wrapping, vacuum compression, shoe-box folding, label removal, power-on testing of electronics, shrink-wrapping, reinforcement, post-arrival re-inspection and shipping insurance. For a multi-seller, multi-week haul, this is the warehouse that stages it properly.

Expert Sourcing

Superbuy staff will find, verify and negotiate items that the normal paste-a-link flow cannot reach — Yupoo albums, unlisted sellers, hard-to-source pieces. No major competitor has a real equivalent.

Documentation and apps

The most complete English help documentation of any agent, and mobile apps that are genuinely well-rated. Questions get answered by pages, not support tickets.

03Where Superbuy falls short

Speed is the tax

Community benchmarking puts order placement around six hours, QC photos around 24 hours and dispatch around 48 — against a few hours end-to-end at the fastest newer agents. Peak-season queues stretch further, which Superbuy at least acknowledges in published notices.

The fee story is layered

The 0% applies to standard orders. Expert sourcing, secondhand platforms and niche services sit in 3–10% tiers, and the balance top-up model adds FX margin and channel fees on top. Budget from the final checkout total, not the headline.

Branded items take line games

Brand-restricted goods are limited to specific shipping lines, which makes routing slower and pricier than on agents that allow main-line shipping.

04Who Superbuy fits

Superbuy fits buyers staging large, heavy or multi-shop hauls who want the warehouse to prepare the consolidation properly — especially with ocean freight, where its service menu pays for itself. It also fits anyone whose priority is certainty over price: expensive orders where you want the oldest name in the business behind the money.

05Questions people actually ask

Is Superbuy legit?

Yes — it has operated continuously since 2012 and is the most established Western-facing agent. Legitimacy is not the same as risk-free: seller choice, stale spreadsheet links and unreviewed QC photos cause most bad outcomes, and customs risk is always yours.

What does Superbuy actually charge?

0% on standard Taobao, Tmall, JD and 1688 orders; tiered fees from 3–10% on expert sourcing, secondhand platforms and unlisted sellers. Storage is free for 90 days, then about ¥0.1 per item per day. International freight is quoted after weigh-in.

How long does a Superbuy order take?

Community benchmarks: roughly 6 hours to place the order, about 24 hours for QC photos, around 48 hours to dispatch — longer during peak seasons. Express lines land in 3–7 days, economy 10–20, sea freight 30–45.

Superbuy vs Kakobuy — which one?

Kakobuy is faster, has 100-day storage, more free QC photos and simpler payment. Superbuy has the service menu, Expert Sourcing and the track record. Heavy non-branded hauls suit Superbuy; fast everyday orders suit Kakobuy.
